Perfect your pout with this organic paw paw lip salve.

What we love about it

Ok, I have to start off by admitting that I have been a loyal user of Lucas’ Paw Paw Ointment for most of my life. From an everyday lip balm to an ointment for dry skin or burns, it’s basically a miracle cure that I swear by. So, to say I was curious to try Organic Island’s Paw Paw Lip Salve is an understatement.

And I'm pleasantly surprised.

Organic Island’s Lip Salve has a smoother and thinner consistency than other paw paw ointments, which I think suits better if you’re using this purely as a lip balm rather than a multi-purpose ointment.

Especially with the dry winter winds we’ve had lately, this product definitely came in handy and my lips felt noticeably smoother after a few days of wearing it. Like I said, I like to put my paw paw ointments to work, so I also used it for dry spots around my nose and even applied it over a matte lipstick to add a subtle sheen.

Unlike flavoured glosses, this product doesn’t have the most appealing taste, so you might want to apply it delicately at first. As one of my colleagues so articulately put it, “I know you’re not supposed to eat this, but it doesn’t taste good.”

One of the best things about this product and the company, Organic Island, is that they're completely transparent about the ingredients. If you head to the website you can see the list go-for-you ingredients used to create this salve. This is a big tick in my opinion.

This product costs $9.95, which is a little pricier than some other paw paw alternatives out there. But considering the size (25ml) and the fact that it’s likely to become a staple in your handbag, it’s not a bad bang for your buck.

Where you can buy it

Organic Island’s Paw Paw Lip Salve isn’t difficult to find. You can buy it online at the Organic Island website.
