Beauty product of the week: Antipodes Manuka Honey Skin-Brightening eye cream

Posted: 15 December 2017 4:24 pm

Honey, we've found an eye cream!

Why we love this product

I'll be the first to admit that for a really long time, I didn't bother using an eye cream (I'll pause while you scold me). I know, I know – don't worry. I've mended my ways, and this eye cream from Antipodes has quickly become my go-to product.

Not only is it actually really smooth and luxurious, but I've started to notice a difference on the days I do and don't wear it. I have quite pale skin, so my under eye area can look very dark if I don't get enough sleep – and who really gets enough sleep anyway? The eye cream has definitely helped brighten up my face and minimise the appearance of those dark circles.

The cream itself is pale yellow and buttery, and it smells strongly of the Manuka Honey. As someone who loves honey this is a-okay by me, but it can be a bit much if you're not overly fond of it. You only have to use a tiny dab of it under your eyes and you'll immediately start to feel it settle into your skin. It does feel slightly thick at first, but as it soaks in, it starts to feel like it's not even there.

When it comes to ingredients, this product is certified vegetarian and contains Persian silk flower, Vinanza grape seed and kiwi fruit skin. As someone with dry/combination skin, I found that it also helped calm my skin down when I was having breakouts or redness – so that's always a plus for me.

All in all, it's refreshing to not only have an eye cream that I regularly want to use, but one that works at that.

At $55 a jar, it does come across as quite pricy until you realise how little you actually have to use. There are 30mLs in each jar and you've got up to six months to use it before expiry – and it will last you.

Where you can buy it

Antipodes Skincare is available at Priceline, Myer, Adore Beauty and on the Antipodes website itself, so you can head over there to grab yourself a jar – there's still just enough time that you could even ask for it for Christmas.
