Big Bash League preview: Sydney Sixers team guide

Last summer’s semi-finalists are looking to start BBL|09 strong.

The Sydney Sixers suffered a heartbreaking semi-final loss last summer against the Melbourne Renegades. However, they are eager to come back on top, especially after signing the world's best Test batsman, Steve Smith, and having Josh Hazlewood return to the team as well.

Both players were part of the Sixers squad that won the inaugural BBL. That being said, key players are likely to be unavailable due to international duties, including Smith, Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon.

That means that the Sixers are looking to start the season strong. That way, they will already be fighting to qualify for the finals when the big names come back.
