This week’s bargain phones: Apple iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy Note9, Oppo Find X
Buy your next phone outright and save even more with our round-up of the best weekly deals.
Each week, we check the most popular online retailers in Australia to find the smartphone bargains. Buying your phone outright, rather than picking it up on contract makes it easier to control your mobile spend, because you can switch between providers when new discount deals emerge, rather than being stuck on the same tariff for two years or longer.
All deals listed below are accurate as per vendor websites on 21 May 2019. Discounts are based on original manufacturer RRP or revised retail price – whichever is lower. Price and availability can change without warning, so bear that in mind before making any purchasing decisions.
Apple iPhone 7
It's genuinely hard to score a real bargain on a current generation iPhone, because Apple's razor-thin margins mean that retailers really don't have much room to move. That's why, if you're looking for an iOS bargain, you've generally got to look back a generation or two. The Apple iPhone 7 is still a phone that Apple sells and supports with the current release of its iOS software, and it's certainly one that regularly falls into budget territory.

Samsung Galaxy Note9
Samsung has been on a tear this year with the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e, but if you want a bargain on a flagship Samsung phone, 2018's Galaxy Note9 is the phone to buy. You get the best-in-class battery life of any current Samsung phone, great camera features and the unique "S-Pen" stylus to use for productivity. Or just doodling on your phone screen. We won't judge.
