This week’s bargain phones: Save on iPhone 8, Galaxy S9 or Huawei P20 Pro

Alex Kidman 1 May 2018 NEWS

Score a bargain deal on the best premium smartphones from Apple, Samsung or Huawei in our weekly round-up of the best deals around.

A premium handset represents a significant investment in 2018, with most devices commanding price points well above $1,000. You can split that cost out over a mobile plan from a carrier, but that limits your choices and flexibility, and may not be the cheapest way to score the phone you really want.

That's why it's always smart to shop around and compare prices before you put down your money. Every week we take the hard work out of comparing for you by tracking the latest deals on the most popular premium handsets in Australia.

For this comparison, we've selected the lowest cost version of each handset available with an online vendor.

You may find your colour choices limited as some vendors charge more for specific finishes, with discounts not available across the range. Prices are as advertised on each vendor's website on 1 May 2018. Availability and pricing is subject to change without notice.

iPhone 8 64GB

The iPhone 8 is the smallest phone in Apple's crop of premium smartphones at the moment, but being Apple, it still commands a premium price, although we are starting to see a little more differentiation as time goes by.

If your budget can't cover the outright cost of an iPhone 8, we've gathered up everything you need to know about the iPhone 8, including contract plans here.

Here are the best deals this week for the iPhone 8 64GB from retailers selling to Australian customers.

Samsung Galaxy S9

Samsung's flagship fleet is headed up by the Samsung Galaxy S9+, but there's also the slightly less fancy Galaxy S9 to consider if your budget can't quite reach for the stars. The Galaxy S9 has only the single camera to the Galaxy S9+'s dual cameras, but it's otherwise stacked with the same processor and a smaller screen so the phone should fit in your hand if that's appealing to you.
