Grab a Christmas discount on Apple, Samsung or Huawei's premium smartphones in our weekly roundup of the best deals.

Each week we check and compare the outright prices you'll pay for a range of popular premium handsets available in Australia from direct and local resellers. Sure, comparison is in our blood so it's somewhat compulsive behaviour, but the benefit to you is in unearthing the lowest prices you'll pay for these pricey devices.

We've selected the lowest cost version of each handset available with an online vendor, which may limit your colour choices, as some vendors charge more for specific hues. Prices are as per each vendor's website on 11/12/17 and may change without notice.

iPhone 8 Plus 256GB

The iPhone 8 Plus doesn't quite have the cachet of the iPhone X, but as we found in our review, it's got the best battery life and identical application performance at a lower price than Apple's premium phone. That being said, it's still an Apple handset, so high prices are automatically assumed.

For more detail, including handset deals if you'd rather get one on contract, we've collected everything you need to know about the iPhone 8 Plus here.

Here are the best deals this week for the iPhone 8 Plus 256GB from retailers selling to Australian customers.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Samsung's final premium phone for 2017 was the large-screened Samsung Galaxy Note 8, combining the Note's iconic S-Pen accessory with Samsung's first dual-lens camera and its smooth "infinity edge" display.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Huawei's Mate 10 Pro bucks the trend of premium Android phones in 2017 by not using Qualcomm's highly regarded Snapdragon 835, instead relying on Huawei's own Kirin processor. Match that up with Huawei's AI-assisted dual camera and you've got a serious smartphone player.
