If you’ve been waiting for that truly inspiring sale fare to help you decide on where to go this year then we’ve just found it. How does springtime in Barcelona sound for less than $800 return? With the cheapest prices we’ve seen in a very long time, we’re already packing our bags.The lowest fares are available flying with Air China from Melbourne to Barcelona for $795 return, with flights from Sydney and Brisbane available for slightly more from $811 return.
If you’re willing to pay a bit more to fly with the world’s best airline, Qatar Airways, then there are also fares from Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, Hobart and Canberra from $953.
Sale fares are for select travel dates from February to June and for return economy airfares. Both Qatar Airways and Air China are full-service airlines, so these fares include checked bags and in-flight meals.
These flights all involve layovers but the Air China flights have some particularly long ones in Beijing. The good news is Air China offers a free hotel stay for passengers who transit overnight and Australians can take advantage of the complimentary transit visa, which makes stopovers in major Chinese cities much easier.
How good are these fares?
These are some of the lowest fares we’ve seen to Barcelona. Flights are $73 cheaper when flying from Perth with Qatar Airways than last year’s Barcelona sale and during much better travel dates. If you opt to fly with Air China then you’re saving a further $284 off their last sale prices from Melbourne.
