Can I get more details on the ‘complimentary travel insurance’ especially age limit and to what extent does it covers on health and emergency requirements expressed in terms of dollars. Does it covers international cruising?

      Hi John,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

There is no age limit to be covered by Bankwest credit card complimentary travel insurance, although limits apply for pre-existing medical conditions. Please check out this link for more information about Bankwest Credit Card Complimentary Insurance. Alternatively, you can also contact Allianz on 1800 785 918 for insurance coverage specifics.

Can you please clarify the precise level of insurance coverage offered in respect of Rental cars. If purchase is made on the Platinum More card is the excess reduced to zero.

    • Staff

      Hi Jim,

      Thanks for your question.

In the Bankwest Complimentary Credit Card Insurance PDS, though it does not state that if the purchase is made on the Bankwest More Platinum credit card the excess will reduce to zero, it rather outlines the following about the rental vehicle insurance excess:

      - page 37. Limit of A$3,000 for Platinum MasterCards

      - page 49. Allianz Global Assistance will reimburse you for any insurance excess or deductible which you become legally liable to pay in respect of a claim under the rental vehicle insurance during the rental period provided you met the conditions stated in the PDS.

For your reference, I’ve emailed you the PDS.

      I hope this has helped.

What airlines can reward points be used on?
What is the exchange rate for BW points to KrisFlyer for example?

    • Staff
      Sally | January 6, 2016

      Hi Frank,

      Thanks for your question.

You can’t directly transfer your Bankwest Rewards points to a specific airline. Instead, you can use your Bankwest Rewards to book flights through Webjet or redeem your points for gift vouchers with Virgin Australia, Accor and Flight Centre. Unfortunately, there aren’t any vouchers available for Singapore Airlines or KrisFlyer at the moment.

I’ve emailed you a link to the Bankwest Rewards page so you can browse your options in further detail.

      I hope this has helped.

Could you share more information about the redeem of reward points, e.g. how many reward points are needed to book a international flight in Webjet? Where can I find these information?

    • Staff
      Sally | October 16, 2015

      Hi Jacob,

      Thanks for your question.

The amount of points you’ll need for a flight will depend on where you’re travelling and the status of your flight.

I’ve emailed you a link to Bankwest’s online rewards calculator for your perusal.

      I hope this has helped.

Can rewards points be obtained on international transactions?

    • Staff
      Jonathan | September 16, 2015

      Hi mdfer3,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

Yes, you can continue to earn Reward Points from eligible purchases made overseas. The same points earn rate will apply as when you are in Australia.

For future references, you may also refer to the PDF file (page 6) that I sent to your email for the list of restrictions where earning Reward Points will not apply.

      I hope this has helped.

      Hi Jonathon,

Thank you very much for the email and supplying the pdf.

I have read through it and was hoping you could also provide clarification of what a foreign exchange purchase (pg6) is, as the pdf advises that these transaction will be except from earning points, thank you.
