This product charges interest on every purchase you make from day 1 until the entire balance is paid off. Why is this not made extremely clear on your site? Effectively, they allocate payments to the zero % interest balance transfer before they allocate any payments to your purchases. I have just spoken to their call centre who confirmed this.

I would advise everyone considering this product to read the fine print of their terms and conditions very carefully. Effectively, you do not get a balance transfer interest free for 21 months at all and you’re paying 2% for very little advantage.

      Hi Mike,

Thanks for your comment and I apologise for the delayed reply.

Actually, when your card is with a balance transfer, one of the ways to make it work and so you won’t be burdened by interest is to avoid using your card on purchases especially if the card does not offer 0% interest promotion on purchases while on BT.

If this is the case, you should be aware that only the balance transfer won’t charge you interest but all your other purchases will incur interest if not paid in full by the payment due date.

We actually have a page that discusses how you can save money on balance transfer and you can find it here. Meantime, if you want to check the credit cards with balance transfer and purchase rate promotion in one, please click this page.

With regard to the credit limit allocated to balance transfer, this is actually the usual case since your BT is requested during your card application. Generally, the BT limit is around 70%-95% of the card’s available limit depending on the type of the card (for the Bankwest Breeze Platinum MasterCard, it’s 95% of the available credit limit). This is also the reason why making a purchase while on BT is not encouraged because you have a little portion left for your other purchases.

      Cheers,

Hi Judy, thanks for your inquiry!

Unfortunately there is no current partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyers and Bankwest Breeze Platinum, the annual fee is $99 p.a. To compare Qantas Frequent Flyer credit cards and bonus points offers please refer to this page.

      Cheers,

    Hi there,
Does the interest rate stay at 12.99% for overseas purchases as well?

      Jonathan | January 28, 2016

Hi Jess, thanks for your inquiry!

That is correct. The interest rate for overseas purchases would also be 12.99% since there is 0% currency conversion fees with Bankwest Platinum cards.

      Cheers,

      Jonathan

Hello, does your Interest Saved amount take into consideration the amount of the balance transfer fees?

      Hi Megan,

      Thanks for your question.

Please note that you have come through finder.com.au, an online comparison service, and is not directly affiliated with Bankwest.
However, we can confirm that the Bankwest Breeze Platinum card currently has a promotional balance transfer offer of 0% p.a. for 21 months (a balance transfer fee of 2% applies).

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,

I’m looking at your page “Bankwest Breeze Platinum MasterCard – Rates & Fees” – “Rates and Fees verified correct on June 11th, 2015″ – “Enjoy 0% p.a. interest on balance transfers for 15 months and no foreign transaction fees on online and overseas purchases.”

There is no option to apply? Is there an error on the page or are the details incorrect and this card unavailable?
