A face mask that does all the work while you sleep? Sign me up!

Among the abundance of beauty brands, I've noticed that there's a few I've yet to try, Avene being one of them. I've always noticed it in chemists like Priceline and Chemist Warehouse but I've never actually taken the time to check it out.

When I was sent Avene's latest product launch, I was super intrigued. An intensely hydrating sleeping mask that works its magic while you get some beauty rest? Sign me up!

The quick verdict

Why is it good? This all-in-one product cures dehydrated skin overnight.

How much is it? $56.95 for 50mL.

Where to buy it: Adore Beauty and Chemist Warehouse.

Allow me to introduce to you a luxurious skincare treatment that can be done from the comfort of your own home, in fact, while you're sleeping. Avene's new Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask is an all-in-one product that moisturises, soothes and detoxifies dehydrated skin.

After doing some research, I realised that the formula is unlike anything I've seen before, getting me pretty excited to give it a go.

It's been designed with a unique and innovative complex of ingredients: a trio of lipids to restore the skin's natural hydration barrier and refill the natural reservoirs with a high concentration of Avene Thermal Spring Water (the brand's renowned key ingredient).

This is then captured inside water-transporting microspheres, allowing the active ingredients to be gradually released. This means you've got long-lasting hydration.

In terms of detoxifying, the sleeping mask is formulated with a powerful antioxidant called Pre-tocopheryl and a decongestant called Dextran Sulfate. These both work to detoxify the skin and protect skin cells from free radicals.

Upon application, I noticed that the mask feels really lightweight on my skin, which is something I love. Other overnight masks that I've tried in the past have been really thick, which is not always ideal. This aqua-gel texture is super refreshing and absorbs easily into the skin.

The next morning, my skin looks radiant and feels soft and intensely hydrated. I was experiencing some dryness around my nose and, sure enough, this sleeping mask worked its magic and cleared it overnight.

While I do love how lightweight it is, I could still feel the product on my skin as I was washing my face the next morning. This isn't a problem for me, but I will say that cleansing in the morning is a must, and then just follow up with your normal skincare routine.

The Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask is also free of parabens, and non-comedogenic.

Avene's Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask retails at $56.95 for 50mL.

That may seem a little pricey for some, but I do believe it's worth it. Why? Well, a little product goes a long way. I only need a pea-sized amount for my face and neck, so this product should last you a pretty long time. It's also not recommended to use the sleeping mask every night, rather three times a week.

Where to buy

Avene is stocked at both Adore Beauty and Chemist Warehouse.

Love taking advantage of bargains? As you may or may not know, Chemist Warehouse is the place to shop for discounted health and beauty products. It turns out that the retailer stocks Avene's Hydrance Hydrating Sleeping Mask for around $35 (meaning you're saving over $20!).
