Finder Beauty Fave: Avène Antirougeurs Unify SPF 30
This is my new favourite summer base product – and here's why you need to know about it too.
I may have found my new favourite SPF product. Ultra Violette's new Lean Screen has my heart, but sometimes you just want a little more coverage, especially for those bad skin days. That's where the Avène Antirougeurs Unify SPF 30 comes in.
This is exactly what I thought of it and why I think you need it too.
The quick verdict
Why is it good? This formulation provides hydration, tinted coverage and relieves redness.
How much is it? $41.95 for 40mL.
Avène's Antirougeurs Unify is designed specifically for sensitive skin. It provides 24-hour hydration, SPF protection, comfortable and tinted coverage as well as relief for redness. Overall, the goal of this product is to unify the complexion.
It's enriched with Avène Thermal Spring Water, which is known for its soothing, softening and anti-irritating properties. The product is also formulated with a unique combination of active ingredients.
TRP-regulin relieves sensitive skin, while dextran sulphate, which is known for its decongestant properties, helps to reduce redness. Pongamia glabra seed oil has also been added, which helps preserve the skin's microflora in order to maintain a balanced skin microbiome.
Essentially, it's a tinted moisturiser but I love the way it makes my skin look and feel.
Upon application, you'll notice that the texture is very fluid-like and non-greasy. It effortlessly glides on the skin, leaving you with a matte finish that still makes your skin look like real skin – and that's something that I love.
While it doesn't magically make my spots go away, it does provide me with enough coverage so that I can go about my day feeling confident.
This is a product that I can quickly throw on while I'm running out the door or take my time with to create a "natural" everyday look.
Any negatives? I wish the sun protection was higher. It's SPF 30, which is good, but I would love it more if it was SPF 50. In saying that, it's super easy to apply sunscreen underneath this product – it doesn't disrupt the formulation at all.
The RRP of the Avène Antirougeurs Unify SPF 30 is $41.95 for 40mL, but there's a good chance you can find it cheaper, especially at retailers like Chemist Warehouse.
Do I think it's worth it? The short answer is yes.
It gets the job done and I love the way my skin looks. While you may be able to find something else on the market that does a similar job, I still thoroughly enjoyed this product and will definitely consider purchasing it once I've run out.
