How can you tell if work boots are Australian made?

The great news is there are a few ways to tell if a product was manufactured in Australia:

  • Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG). The easiest thing to look out for is the iconic green triangle which is usually on the website or on the packaging of the product.
  • Location of factories. If you can't seem to find the AMAG logo, you can also check out the "About" section of the websites as it usually explains where the products are made. This is most common with smaller businesses.
  • Reputable websites. We suggest checking out the Australian Made website as its database lists all the businesses and products that are confirmed to be made here.

Why buy Australian made work boots?

One of the biggest reasons to buy Australian made is the standard of quality. And if the leather is also locally sourced and handmade, you can expect those work boots to last a lifetime.

In saying this you'll also be boosting the local economy, supporting small businesses and can expect faster shipping times (forget that one-month wait from overseas).

Are Australian made work boots more expensive?

We do find that Australian made boots are a little more expensive due to the nature of their creation. In some cases the boots are still being handmade and so costs need to not only cover the high quality leather but the workmanship. It's also a big plus knowing that you're buying into a brand that ensures the Australian workplace health and safety standards are being met.

Though you may pay a few extra dollars, you won't be paying for any international transaction or shipping fees, or high returns costs, and you will know that ethical standards are being met.
