AUSTiC

AUSTiC overview: Rapid COVID-19 testing to prevent the spread

Need a rapid antigen test? We review AUSTiC, a retailer offering at-home testing products, to see if its tests are worth your time and money.

We’re reader-supported and may be paid when you visit links to partner sites. We don’t compare all products in the market, but we’re working on it!

Travel rules are set to change on 1 November so be sure to check how this affects you. You're likely to need PCR tests from a government-listed test provider both before and after you travel; however, an at-home lateral flow test like those offered at AUSTiC will help you to detect whether you are carrying the virus and help prevent spreading it. In this review, we look at the pros and cons of AUSTiC and compare its products.

What is AUSTiC?

AUSTiC is an Australian retailer that specialises in printing, photography and educational products. Its catalogue has expanded to include at-home COVID testing products developed by 3 trusted laboratories: Roche, MP Bio and InnoScreen.

Both Roche and InnoScreen rapid antigen tests are TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration – Australia's regulatory authority for therapeutic goods) approved.

What types of COVID tests can I get from AUSTiC?

AUSTiC provides antigen (lateral flow) tests developed by 3 TGA-approved laboratories to ensure that international travel can resume for Australians safely. Remember, different countries have different test requirements, so check what test you need before booking.

Roche rapid antigen test kits are available in boxes of 5 and 25. InnoScreen rapid antigen testing kits are available in boxes of 20 or individually. MP Bio tests are available in boxes of 25.

What is AUSTiC's refund policy?

Generally, returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt provided the products remain in their original unused and unopened condition. Any return due to a change of mind is subject to a 20% restocking fee which will be deducted prior to your refund being issued.

Note: Rapid antigen tests are not eligible for return in change of mind cases due to hygiene issues.

AUSTiC customer reviews

Customer reviews of AUSTiC are excellent and the average Trustpilot rating is 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The only complaint seems to be with products either not arriving or a lack of information in the product specifications. One negative review is attributed to AUSTiC asking its customer to review their experience.

On the whole, the majority of customers were completely satisfied with both the product and the service received.

Are AUSTiC tests accurate?

AUSTiC offers tests developed by three test providers. Roche, MP Bio and InnoScreen are TGA approved and offer high levels of accuracy.

MP Bio Tests will also be available, however, their accuracy scores aren't listed on the AUSTiC website yet. Watch this space.

It is worth noting that no COVID test is 100% reliable, even those which meet the regulatory standards for safety and performance.

How long does it take to get results from AUSTiC?

Both testing brands offer really rapid results. Yours will be ready within 15 minutes. However, you should discard any change in results after 20 minutes have passed.

How much do AUSTiC tests cost?

The at-home tests available at AUSTiC start from $29.99 for a single InnoScreen lateral flow test. InnoScreen tests are available in boxes of 20 for $299.99 and ROCHE testing kits are available in boxes of 25 for $295 or boxes of 5 for $64.99. MP Bio tests are also available in boxes of 25 and cost $329.

All Rapid Antigen Test will be on express shipments regardless of the quantity.

Bulk buy discounts are also available.
