Your first look at the new ASOS x The Lion King collection
The new ASOS x Lion King collection will leave you with no worries for the rest of your days.
(Warning: This article contains an obnoxious amount of The Lion King references and I refuse to apologise for it.)
Alright people, we're at the point where we are less than a month from the live-action The Lion King remake hitting cinemas and it's MERCH TIME. I've got an entire paycheck and no savings to throw at something and this new collection from ASOS is exactly that something. Hakuna matata right?
ICYMI - ASOS is launching its very own fashion line in collaboration with the The Lion King and yeah, I'm pretty sure it will solve all your problems.
So what's in this collection and why am I losing my mind over it? In my opinion, these pieces are ~different~ from any other Disney collection we've seen before. We still see the iconic stills from the movie like Rafiki holding Simba in the circle of life and the hyenas, (who I relate to more than I'd like to admit) but this collection offers more than just memorabilia. It features bright fun designs and colours that seriously remind us of what it would be like to explore the African jungle, which I for one love.
Note: This collection does not feature Scar and yes, I am upset but I'll be okay. Thanks for asking.
There is a wide range of styles to completely obsess over. From tie-dye shirts featuring a dressed-in-drag, hula-dancing Timon (aka the most iconic moment of my childhood) to Zazu-embossed button-up shirts.
You can expect crop tees, graphic tees, a neon denim jacket, co-ord sets, cycle shorts, crew neck jumpers and oh so much more. The ASOS Design x Lion King collection will be available in womenswear, menswear and unisex pieces as well as ASOS CURVE and ASOS PLUS styles. So big tick for inclusivity, ASOS.
ASOS Design pieces are never too expensive so you won't have to rustle up some grubs and all your dollars to afford it. The licensing might mean that these items are a little more expensive than usual, but ASOS tends to keep a pretty affordable price tag.
When is it available?
The Disney Lion King collection by ASOS DESIGN launches on 1 July 2019 on the ASOS website! That's next Monday, which is exactly 18 days before the new movie comes out - not like I'm counting or anything. SO who wants to buy the entire collection with me and wear every single piece to see The Lion King on the big screen?
