ASOS now officially offers Afterpay

Mia Steiber 7 November 2018 NEWS

This is not a drill. ASOS has officially launched with Afterpay just in time for Christmas.

At last, the wishes of all Afterpay fans have come true. It's just been announced that global fashion brand ASOS will now be offering Afterpay as a payment method at the checkout.

After cryptically posting a teaser on its Facebook page yesterday, today ASOS revealed the good news. Afterpay will now be available to shoppers via the ASOS app.

At this stage it appears that the online store won't offer Afterpay just yet, it will be solely available through the app on both iOS and Android smartphones. We're also not clear on whether Afterpay will be available to Australian customers only or whether the buy-now-pay-later service will be accessible to shoppers outside of Australia too. But given the popularity of both Afterpay and ASOS, it can't be too long before Afterpay is available on-site and to customers everywhere.

This partnership comes after months of Afterpay lovers and shoppers actively asking for ASOS to launch with Afterpay. ASOS cheekily responded to the comments, saying:

"Since you asked 3,679 times – Afterpay is now available on the ASOS app! Not that we were counting or anything…"

This is one of many exciting Afterpay launches this year. In September, Afterpay officially went live on Kmart's online store. Afterpay also recently launched into the US and UK markets and is now available to US customers shopping at Urban Outfitters and Australian customers shopping at the UK site Boohoo.

Today is definitely a good day!
