Apple’s (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 8 will go on sale this week
Just like the regular iPhone 8, but in carmine tones and with a charitable outlook.
Apple has continued its long association with (PRODUCT) RED by announcing new colours for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in, predictably, red finishes. There's no new (PRODUCT) RED iPhone X to speak of, but there is a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X Leather Folio as part of the initiative if you want to dress your existing iPhone X up in charity-supporting colours.
In price terms, the (PRODUCT) RED variants of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus don't vary from the standard pricing for the 64GB and 256GB models in the existing finishes, which means you'll pay $1,079 for a 64GB iPhone 8 or $1,329 for a 256GB model, while the iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED models will run you $1,229 and $1,479 respectively.
The pre-order period is particularly short, with Australian pre-orders opening tomorrow night, Tuesday 10 April after 10:30 pm, for delivery starting on 13 April 2018. That's when they will also be available in stores.
Apple advises that the (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will also be available in Apple stores on 13 April, as well as through Apple Authorised Resellers and "selected" carriers. At the time of writing, no Australian carriers had added the (PRODUCT) RED variants to their plan offerings, but we'll update if they do.
There's even less time to wait for the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X Leather Folio, which goes on sale in Australia tomorrow for $145 outright.
