I am an ANZ Travel Adventures cardholder. I would like to avail of the complimentary annual domestic flight. I’ve had the card for more than a year and in good credit standing. Is the 60 days prior to a return departure domestic travel advance booking a strict rule? This is not practical as these days, people usually book for travel on a short notice. Please advise.

Hi, does the Rewards Travel Adventures Visa Platinum credit card cover domestic family travel insurance?

      Hi Elena,

      Thanks for getting in touch!

Upon checking the terms and conditions of this card, only international travel insurance covers family members (each of the spouse and/or dependants) They must also be travelling with the cardholder for at least fifty per cent (50%) of the period of cover provided to the cardholder for the cardholder’s overseas journey and other rules set by this card.

As a friendly reminder, check the eligibility requirements of the card before proceeding with your application. Also, read about its features and benefits and see how it fits your financial needs. Additionally, it’s helpful to review the PDS and Terms & Conditions of the card before fully committing to the card. You may also reach out to the bank if you have any clarifications.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out to us again for further assistance.

      Best,
      Nikki

    Hi,
Are there restrictions as to what constitutes an “eligible purchase”? E.g what does and doesn’t count as an eligible purchase on this card?

      Hi Jack,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

For your reference on transactions that will not earn Rewards Points from this card or “eligible purchases”, “You will not earn Rewards Points on interest charges, premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance, government charges, bank fees, payments made to the Australian Taxation Office or other taxation payments or duties, card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions or otherwise, balance transfers or cash advances (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) or transactions which are identified to ANZ by the relevant merchant or any intermediary financial institution as falling into one of these categories. Bonus Reward Points will not be earned in the Bonus Points Mall on the purchase of gift cards, GST or delivery and shipping charges.”

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

I have spent more than $250 on my ANZ Travel Rewards card on an international car rental for an upcoming trip.

My understanding is that this qualifies me for the OS Travel Insurance.

Will I be covered for the excess payment should I have caused an accident on my trip

      Hi Nicholas,

      Thank you for contacting Finder.

To know the coverage of the ANZ Complimentary Travel Insurance, you may read this page. Indeed, there is a coverage for “Rental excess cover” which will reimburse you for any excess that you will be paying in case that an accident will happen with your rental vehicle.

      I hope this helps.

Please do not hesitate to reach out again if you have additional questions.

      Cheers,
      Ash

      Hi Fay,

Thanks for your question. The ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures card offers overseas travel and medical insurance when you charge at least $250 of your pre-booked trip to your account. Other terms and conditions are outlined in the ANZ and Allianz Product Disclosure Statement provided with this card.

Under the ALLIANZ TERMS AND CONDITIONS, the age limit is eighty (80) years of age or under on the day you activated the insurance.

Hope this was helpful. Don’t hesitate to message us back if you have more questions.

    Hi Barbara,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

I’m afraid you’re no longer eligible for the bonus points as it is not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions, when transferring from an existing ANZ credit card or where you currently hold or have closed an ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card within the previous 12 months.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

    Cheers,
    Jeni

Looking for a credit card with travel insurance that would cover my husband who is 80. His birthday is in September and we will be traveling in November to the USA. He would be 80 when we activate the insurance, but 81 when we travel. Suggestions?

      Hi Pat,

      Thank you for reaching out.

To view credit cards with complimentary travel insurance, you can refer to our article Credit card travel insurance options if you’re over 65. Look for the Compare credit card complimentary travel insurance age limits table to check on credit cards who offer such as well as the age conditions. Please see below to name a few that you can consider.

      * ANZ- To be eligible you must be 80 years of age or under on the day you activated cover
      * NAB – up to 90 years of age

For the other cards where age limit and restriction are not indicated, you can contact the bank directly to check.

      Hope this helps! 😊

      Kind Regards,

Does ANZ Reward Travel Adventure credit card provide trip-interruption-trip-cancellation insurance? What travel insurance is NOT covered by ANZ Rewards Travel adventures travel card? I’m paying one way to UK, taking a cruise to NZ and flying NZ to Perth using my Virgin points. Does that cover a return ticket if I use points?

      Hi Robyn,

Thank you for getting in touch with Finder.

Please note that you do need to spend $250 before the insurance kicks in. One of the requirements is having a valid return ticket to Australia. Using points, you will need to speak to the insurance company directly as I’m afraid we do not have further info on that matter. As per this page, ANZ credit card complimentary travel insurance is a comprehensive international travel insurance policy that includes medical expenses, cancellations, damage or loss of luggage and other personal items, rental vehicle expenses and loss of life or income. Cover begins on the day you depart your home in Australia and ends on your return or after six months of travel, whichever happens first.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni
