Hi, Am I able Balance Transfer from 2 separate cards?
One of the cards is in my partner’s name and I want to transfer the debt into my name. I’ll add him as a cardholder later if possible.

    Thanks

      Hi Kim,

      Thanks for your question.

Yes, ANZ does allow balance transfer between two people’s name as long as the old cards are non-ANZ. Other banks also allow that. You can refer to this page to check your other options.

      Cheers,

Hi. I’ve been trying to find info on the balance transfer for this card. Just wondering if there’s any balance transfer fee? ANZ charge one for their other products, but I can’t see that there is or is not one for this promotional offer. Please let me know.
    Thanks.

      Hi Ian,

      Thanks for your question.

Yes, your ANZ Platinum Credit Card comes with the complimentary insurance for overseas trips, interstate flights and rental car excess payments. Please note, however, that in order to be eligible for the complimentary insurance, you will need to meet the requirements outlined on this page, which include using your card to pay for the transport costs (airfares and/or cruises) and land content costs (tours, hire cars or other hired transport and accommodation) of at least AU$250 (inclusive of taxes and other charges).

      Hope this has helped.

      Cheers,

Called ANZ to do a balance transfer after receiving card and they are advising that there is a 3% fee. How can I do the balance transfer without the fee?

    • Staff
      May | November 21, 2016

      Hi Muhammed,

      Thanks for your question.

Just to confirm, the ANZ Platinum Credit Card has two ongoing offers at the moment:

      1. The ANZ Platinum Credit Card on featured on this page – you will get the offer of 0% interest on BT for 18 months but with 3% fee on balance transfer.

      2. For the ANZ Platinum Credit Card featured above has an Exclusive Offer where you will have to click on the “Go to Site” button above in order to get the 0% interest on BT for 12 months but no balance transfer fee of 3%.

So if you have applied for the ANZ Platinum card with balance transfer for 18 months, you will most likely be charged a one-time 3% for the BT fee.

      Cheers,
      May

hi there, I would like to do a balance of $4000 into this credit card, which I plan to pay off within the first year. Can you please confirm that in this case, I would NOT have to pay anything in excess of the actual balance transfer (ie $4000)? In other words, there would be no annual fee, balance transfer rate nor interest charged on the balance transfer itself?

    • Staff
      Anndy | October 30, 2016

      Hi Tia,

      Thanks for your question.

For ANZ Platinum credit card, if you’re approved to transfer $4,000, you will not incur interest on the transferred amount during the promotional period of 12 months. There is also $0 p.a. annual fee for the first year. However, you are required to pay the minimum monthly repayment of 2% of your outstanding balance.

      Cheers,
      Anndy

If I already have an ANZ platinum credit card can i increase my credit limit and then do a balance transfer on the same card?

    • Staff
      May | November 2, 2016

      Hi Sean,

      Thanks for your question.

Generally, with credit cards, the balance transfer can be conducted/requested at the time of your card application so that you will be able to take advantage of the promo rate like the 0% interest on BT for a specific period of time. This is also the case for ANZ credit cards.

However, there may be occasions that you will request for a BT after your card has been approved, the BT interest rate charged to your card will be the standard rate ANZ offer to existing customers for that particular product. So for this ANZ Platinum Credit Card, in case you will request for a BT, you will be charged 21.49% p.a on BT, the same rate of the cash advance.

      Cheers,

ANZ Platinum Credit Card offers 0% balance transfer rate (p.a.) for the first 12 months then reverts to the standard balance transfer rate of 21.49% p.a. after the 0% promotion has ended.

      I hope this helps.

If I did a balance transfer of $1000 to this new card and spend $500 on new purchases. When I do a repayment for $500 after the first month, will it apply to the new purchases first and the balance transfer will continue with 0% interest?
Or will the payment allocate to the balance transfer and the $500 new purchase will trigger interest (19.74%) after the first month?

    • Staff
      May | October 5, 2016

      Hi Ray,

      Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, this ANZ Platinum Credit Card with exclusive offer does not offer 0% interest on the balance transfers. When you conduct a balance transfer on this card, you will be charged 21.49% p.a.

As for purchases, ANZ will charge 19.74% p.a. The purchase interest rate is usually charged when you are not able to pay in full during the next payment cycle. However, you can take advantage of the interest-free 55 days on purchases if you pay the closing balance shown on each statement of your account in full by the applicable due date.

“exclude transactions for gambling or gaming purposes”
Can I still go and buy some PlayStation and Xbox games and count towards it?

    Thank you

      Hi Eddy,

      Thanks for your question.

The “gambling and gaming purposes” mentioned are transactions particularly in the casinos. So buying gadgets or gaming devices will not be under that category.
