How do I apply for the ANZ Share Investing Cash Investment Account?

You can apply for this account by visiting ANZ website and filling out an online application form. You will first be asked the type of account you wish to apply for including; individual, joint, company, registered body, trustee or super fund. Eligibility requirements and necessary documentation may vary depending on the type you choose, but some basic requirements for all include:

Eligibility to apply

  • Minimum age. You must be at least 18 years of age to take advantage of this account.
  • Residency requirements. Only Australian residents with an Australian residential address will be permitted to apply.
  • Depository requirements. There are no stipulations made for a minimum opening balance.

Documentation for you application

You are also going to need to provide information from various documentation in order for your application to be processed. Again this will vary with the type of account you are opening, but with all you will be asked for your:

  • Tax file number. Providing your tax file number (TFN) or exemption code is not compulsory. If you don’t provide it, ANZ may be required to deduct withholding tax at the highest marginal tax rate along with any applicable Medicare levy.
  • Identification. Acceptable forms of photo identification include your passport, driver’s licence or Medicare card.

What happens after I've submitted the application?

If you are already an ANZ customer you will find it easier to apply for this account through your established online banking platform. New customers will need to wait for their application details to be confirmed before the account can be activated and they can begin making deposits into the Cash Management Account in order to participate in real time trading activity.
