Nintendo's mobile direct reveals a new portable Animal Crossing experience.

During today's Mobile Direct, Nintendo announced the latest addition to its growing library of iOS and Android games. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp will join Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes and Miitopia when it launches in late November 2017.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp has just about everything you'd expect from the series, except that it has been adapted for the great outdoors. Our villager-turned-camper will attract friends (animal and human alike) by decking out their camp with the most sought-after furniture and supplies.

As this is a mobile game, it comes with the inevitable in-app purchase we've come to expect from the format. You can create furniture, amenities and camper-van customisations using materials gathered in-game or purchased with "Leaf Tickets", an in-game currency exchanged for real money.

While you don't necessarily have to spend real-world money, the harvesting resources function uses a time-based reward mechanic. For example, once you've pillaged a tree of its fruit, you could wait up to three hours until more resources spawn.

You can also exchange real money or Leaf Tokens to pay off Cyrus, the game's handyman who helps build your camp's amenities. Sliding Cyrus a sneaky bribe will speed up the building process and allow you to progress through the game at a faster rate.

In a first for the series, you can also build relationships with your fellow campers by chatting with them and fulfilling specific requests.
