American Express Shop Small returns with cashback for cardholders
Support small businesses and reward your spending with up to $50 cashback in November.
The American Express Shop Small campaign is back for another year to support small businesses and reward cardholders. For the month of November, Amex is encouraging Australians to shop small with the release of its latest Economy of Shopping Small: The Future of Small Business report and a cashback offer for Amex cardholders.
If you have an Amex credit card, you can get $10 back when you spend at least $20 in one transaction at participating small businesses between 1 November and 30 November. You can take advantage of the offer in-store with up to five different retailers, meaning you can score up to $50 back into your account.
The offer is available to the first 100,000 card members to save the promotion to their account, so head to Amex Offers if you don't want to miss out.
The Shop Small campaign includes small businesses all around Sydney including restaurants, cafes and fashion boutiques. You can use the Shop Small map on the Amex website to find participating merchants and restaurants near you.
As well as treating cardholders to some extra cash, the Shop Small campaign is designed to support small businesses and help boost the local economy.
According to this year's Economy of Shopping Small report by Amex, unrealised small business plans could be costing the Australian economy more than $93.8 billion per year. Increased costs and overheads, cash flow restraints and the current state of the economy are just some of the factors that prevent small businesses from achieving their growth plans, according to the report.
"Small business operators are under immense pressure to keep up with rapid industry evolution, but often lack the resources to be able to address these changes," says CEO and founder of Retail Doctor Group Brian Walker. "Shop Small month reminds us that choosing to support small businesses can make a huge difference to our local small business operators both now and into the future."
