Based on the Vega architecture, AMD's Radeon RX Vega 64 is the company's top-of-the-line graphics card offering for gamers, with performance comparable to Nvidia's GTX 1070 Ti and 1080.
Released in August 2017, alongside its slightly less powerful sibling the Vega 56, the Vega 64 is equipped with 64 compute units (4096 stream processors), 8 more than Vega 56, and 256 texture units.
The clock speed found on the Vega 64 varies from card to card based on adjustments made by AMD's board partners, such as Sapphire and Gigabyte.
Like the Vega 56, the Vega 64 has HBM2 memory, as opposed to its current generation RX 500 series counterparts, which use GDDR5 memory. Some benefits to using HBM2 memory are reduced power consumption and increased memory bandwidth, with Vega 64 having around 50% more bandwidth than the GTX 1080.
