Best early Switch deal – $90.95 off

The Nintendo Switch was one of the hottest sellers during last year's Prime Day sale thanks to a saving of around $100. We're expecting to see a similar bargain this year, which should work out to around 25-30% off the RRP. In addition to the console, you can also bag big discounts on Switch games and accessories. Here are a few early-bird offers to sink your teeth into:

  • Animal Crossing New Horizons: $64 (previously $79.95) "If the hustle and bustle of modern life has got you down, Tom Nook has a new business venture up his sleeve that he knows you'll adore: the Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package."
  • Bioshock The Collection: $36.24 (previously $89.95) "Experience the unforgettable worlds and monumental stories of the award-winning BioShock series with BioShock: The Collection. Journey to the cities of Rapture and Columbia across BioShock Remastered, BioShock 2 Remastered, and BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition, including all single-player add-on content."
  • Super Mario 3D All Stars: $64 (previously $79.95) "Play three classic games at home or on the go - all in one package on the Nintendo Switch system! Jump into paintings in Super Mario 64 , clean up paint-like goop in Super Mario Sunshine , and fly from planet to planet in Super Mario Galaxy."
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: $68 (previously $89.95) "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild represents the next great boundary-breaking adventure from Nintendo."
  • Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit (Mario Set): $108 (previously $149.95) "Use the Nintendo Switch system to control your kart and watch as it reacts to what's happening in the game as you boost and drift to victory. Your in-home course comes to life on-screen with a view from right behind the driver's seat."

First things first: If you're holding out hope for a discounted PlayStation 5 console you're going to be sorely disappointed. The PS5 is almost impossible to buy even at full price, so a Prime deal is exceedingly unlikely.

With that said, you can expect plenty of deals on PlayStation 5 games and accessories, some of which have already been popping up on Amazon's sales hub. This includes 70% off Watch Dogs Legion and 56% off Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

There should also be plenty of PS4 deals on offer so keep an eye out for discounted DualShock 4 controllers, PlayStation Plus gift cards and plenty of PlayStation 4 games. Here are a few PlayStation deals that jumped the gun:

Much like with the PS5, you can basically forget about the Xbox Series X this year – but Amazon is offering a deal on the Xbox Series S console. You can currently get it for $70 off the RRP. There will also be plenty of games and accessories going for cheap on the big day, with discounts of up to 70% off. Here are a few early deals that caught our eye:

Amazon Prime Day presents an excellent opportunity for PC gamers to upgrade their gaming laptop and score some cutting-edge peripherals on the cheap. Mice, headsets, racing wheels and keyboards will all be part of the sale, including bestselling models from major manufacturers. Although the PC game selection will be smaller, you will still be able to pick up some discounted titles, including Cyberpunk 2077. Here are the best deals so far:
