Amazon Prime Day is here, with big savings on Echo speakers

Posted: 16 July 2018 12:39 pm

Amazon Prime Day has been like a second Black Friday in the US for years, but this year Australians also get to join in the fun. The first Prime Day to officially happen since Amazon launched in Australia, the sale will run for 36 hours and officially kicked off at midday on 16 July.

While the majority of the sale items are occurring as Lightning Deals, with new products available every five minutes at reduced prices, there are some pretty massive daily deals on offer over the course of the sale event, including some huge savings on Amazon hardware.

Among the discounts are 50% off the Amazon Echo Plus smart speaker, $40 off the Echo Dot (a 51% reduction) and $70 off the price of the Kindle Paperwhite 3G.

You will need to be an Amazon Prime customer to be able to take advantage of the deals. Fortunately, Amazon is offering a 30 day free trial for its Prime service, which not only includes free shipping, but also a subscription to Prime Video.
