What is the difference between Amazon Prime and Prime Video Channels?

Prime Video Channels are additional streaming services you can add to your Prime Video subscription for an extra fee.

Prime Video is free with Amazon Prime, which costs $9.99 a month.

Amazon Prime also gets you free delivery, free entertainment, exclusive deals and more.

So even if you only take advantage of 1 of the Amazon Prime Day streaming deals and pay 99 cents a month for a Prime Video Channel, the most you'll pay is $10.98 a month for 2 streaming services.

The idea is to enjoy more content though the same app, making it a more seamless streaming experience without having to constantly switch between services.

Most Prime Video Channels generally offer a 7-day free trial, but this won't apply if you take sign up to the current Amazon Prime Day streaming deal.

What can I watch on Prime Video Channels?

These channels all offer a wide variety of content, so it's worth looking over their libraries before signing up to see which of them best fit your needs.

A lot of them are niche streaming services, only focusing on a particular genre or type of content.

DocPlay, for instance, specialise in documentaries, as does Love Nature, but as its name suggests, only focuses on nature.

Lionsgate Plus offers TV shows from STARZ and selected movies.

Paramount Plus comes with a generous library of shows and movies courtesy of Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Showtime and more.

Shudder is streaming all things horror, while Britbox and Acorn TV offer mostly content from the UK.

AMC Plus includes access to both Acorn TV and Shudder in addition to its own content.

MGM comes with a robust collection of movies, as does Rialto.

OUTtv has LGBTQ+ content, while Stingray features music-related content.

The Great Courses gives you access to educational courses and Hopster combines learning with fun for young kids.

MGM, Lionsgate Plus and Love Nature are not available to get independently, so subscribing through Prime Video Channels will be the only way to view their content.
