Get up to $140 off the top-selling ereader.

Amazon Prime Day has big bargains across hundreds of categories, but Kindle ebook readers always have some of the biggest discounts. That's no surprise, given Kindle is an Amazon product.

For Amazon Prime Day 2020, these are the top Kindle deals:

  • Up to $40 off the Kindle (10th generation). This is the basic model, but still a good choice if you're not a super-heavy book reader.
  • Up to $80 off Kindle Paperwhite. The Paperwhite incorporates a glare-free display and is waterproof, so it's a better choice when you're on the road.
  • Up to $140 off the Kindle Oasis. This is the top-of-the-line Kindle, with a colour-adjustable warm light that makes it easier to read in different light conditions. (Check out the full Finder review.)

My Kindle is always at the top of my travel packing list. The ridiculously long battery life means I can get through multiple plane, train and bus trips without having to charge it. Plus, it weighs so little I can easily slip it in my jacket pocket. If you don't already have a Kindle, get one before you make your 2021 travel plans.

An added bonus? During the Prime Day sale, new customers can try out Kindle Unlimited for free for three months. That gives you access to over 1 million books to read on your new device. (After three months, if you want to keep using Kindle Unlimited, you'll pay $13.99 a month.)

The Amazon Prime Day sale runs in Australia until 11:59pm on Wednesday 14 October. To take advantage of Prime Day deals, you'll need to sign up for an Amazon Prime membership, which gets you free and reduced postage on thousands of items through Amazon as well as access to Amazon Prime Video.
