The Australian retail landscape received a big shakeup today, with Amazon finally launching its fully-fledged Australian online store with a raft of deals across all the major retail categories. One area where the deals are especially compelling is fitness trackers, with Amazon offering popular models from Fitbit, Garmin and Yafex at prices significantly lower than those currently available at other local retailers.

Leading the deals is the Fitbit Flex 2, which boasts a swim-proof design and a battery capable of lasting up to five days. Despite a regular retail price of $149.95 and a current discount on Fitbit's own website bringing it down to $89.95, Amazon Australia beats that hands down with a bargain price of $66.00, including free shipping.

Stepping up to the Fitbit Charge 2, which packs a heart-rate monitor and a slate of guided-breathing exercises, Amazon again tops local competitors with a price of $137.00 including free shipping. Fitbit charges between $149.95 and $179.95 for the Charge 2 from its official store, as do other local retailers like Rebel Sport and Target, making this a compelling deal for the popular fitness tracker.

Amazon Australia's range of activity trackers is still fairly limited, but this will likely change over the coming months as more sellers sign on with the online juggernaut. In the meantime, check out our top picks from Amazon's fitness catalogue below:
