Amaysim increasing data on UNLIMITED plans

There's one catch: plan duration drops from 30 days to 28 days.

amaysim is increasing the data inclusions across all of its UNLIMITED plans, and expanding the range of international calls on offer.

From 31 March, the UNLIMITED 5GB and UNLIMITED 5GB Plus plans will each have an extra 2GB of data, taking their total to 7GB. The UNLIMITED 2GB plan will go up to 3GB, and the UNLIMITED 8G will go up to 9GB. The Unlimited 1GB plan will increase from 1GB to 1.5GB.

All those plans will also include unlimited standard international calls to 10 countries: UK, USA, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and South Korea. The Unlimited 7GB Plus and 9GB plans will continue to 300 minutes of calls to standard international numbers outside those countries.

The one potential downside? The plans will now auto-renew every 28 days, rather than every 30. amaysim argues this will make it easier to compare with rival plans, most of which also use a 28-day renewal cycle, but it does mean you get marginally less value.

Existing customers will be automatically switched onto the enhanced plan when they renew after 31 March. All of the UNLIMITED plans are no-contract, so you can switch to a different plan if your needs change. You can check out the full range of current amaysim plans in our detailed guide. (We'll update our full comparison with the new plans when they go on sale at the end of March.)

amaysim, which uses the Optus 4G network, tweaks its plans regularly. It rolled out the additional of international calling minutes in November last year. In January, it purchased rival MVNO Vaya, but said it intended to continue offering plans under the Vaya name.
