Score a discount for half a year on amaysim’s budget phone plan.

MVNO amaysim has long sold itself on simple plans that allow you to control your spend through the simple premise of only offering month to month plans. If you don’t like what you’re getting it’s very simple to shift your mobile number to another carrier, but amaysim has always seen off that challenge with seriously competitive pricing schemes for its SIM-only mobile plans. amaysim’s mobile services operate on Optus’ 4G mobile network.

Its latest deal offers new customers only its entry level 1.5GB plans for only $9.90 per month for the first six months of usage. That’s a plan that also comes with unlimited standard national talk and text provisions, as well as unlimited talk and text to China, India, New Zealand, South Korea, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the USA.

Usually (and if you’re already an amaysim customer) you’d pay $24.90 per month for that plan, which means that even if you did switch out after six months, you’d still be a solid $90 ahead of the usual charging rate.

The deal is available to new amaysim customers only, and will be on offer for those customers who sign up before 30 June 2017. After the six month period, pricing would revert to the standard pricing for that plan, currently $24.90 per month.

If you’re after more data than the entry level plan can provide, amaysim has also recently launched data-only SIM plans with hefty 70GB download allowances.
