Amaysim increasing data on UNLIMITED plansNew $24.90 plan for the less data-hungry.

amaysim has tweaked its UNLIMITED 5GB and 7GB month-to-month mobile phone plans, adding 100 minutes of calling each month to 32 countries.

Later this year, amaysim says those plans will be further updated to include unlimited SMS and MMS messages to international numbers. This is the full list of countries you can call using the 100 minutes:

Austria Germany Japan South Africa
Bangladesh Greece Malaysia South Korea
Cambodia Hong Kong Netherlands Taiwan
Canada Hungary New Zealand Thailand
Chile India Pakistan Turkey
China Indonesia Philippines United Kingdom
Croatia Ireland Poland USA
France Italy Singapore Vietnam

Adding those options makes amaysim more competitive with month-to-month plans from Optus and Vodafone, which include a set number of international calling minutes on higher-priced plans. Optus' $45 month-to-month plan includes 150 minutes a month, while Vodafone's $40 a month plan offers unlimited calling to 10 countries and 90 minutes a month to call other countries.

amaysim has also added a new UNLIMITED 1GB plan, which as the name suggests includes 1GB of data each month.

Like the UNLIMITED 2GB plan that was updated last month, the plan includes unlimited calls and texts to Australian standard numbers.

While $24.90 a month is a relatively cheap plan, you only have to spend $5 more to double the amount of data. If you're not sure how much data you need each month, check out our detailed guide. amaysim runs on Optus' 4G network.

Unlimited calls are now very much the "new normal" for mobile plans in Australia. Optus and Vodafone both offer unlimited calls across all their month-to-month and contract plans, though Telstra, TPG and Boost still have plans with included "dollar value" amounts.
