Ordering alcohol online, and getting it delivered to your door might be the most convenient way to consume your favourite drinks (in a responsible manner). The hard part is deciding where to get it from and working out who has the widest selection at the lowest prices.
Let us walk you through the answers to these questions and save you a trip to the store.
Where can I buy alcohol online in Australia?
There are a lot of options and the best depends on what you’re looking for. Browse the list or read on to find out who’s got the lowest prices, the widest range and more.
Buy cheap alcohol online
Looking to get it for less? You might try some of these. The cheapest of the lot depends on what you’re ordering, when you want it, whether you can get free delivery and what kind of alcohol coupon codes and discounts are available.
If you’re after unbeatable prices, look for the ones with a lowest price guarantee, and check on the terms and conditions to make sure you’re getting the absolute cheapest alcohol online.
If you find a lower price with a competitor, Dan Murphy’s will watch it. However this doesn’t apply to online offers and similar, so you can’t price-beat the vouchers on this page. Other conditions also apply, such as the competitor needing to be within 10km of the store you’re ordering from.
WineMarket
If you’re after wine, you can get an amazing range online from WineMarket. Some exceptional discounts, a cheapest price guarantee and a maximum $20 delivery fee no matter how much you order makes sure you’ll be satisfied.
Free delivery? Delivery is $8 a case, but is capped at $20 no matter how much you order.
Same day delivery? No. Expect 7-10 day delivery in metro areas, and up to 2 weeks in regional areas.
Price? Low, with a lowest price guarantee.
What can I get? Wine, champagne and sparkling wine only.
If you find the same item cheaper at another site within 30 days of purchase you can get refunded the difference in price (not counting delivery charges). The competitor’s offer must be non-conditional and you need to point WineMarket towards it so it can be verified.
Groupon and MyDeal
Like most other things, Groupon has deals on drinks. Members can get coupons and take advantage of flash sales, daily deals and specials on drinks that might otherwise fly under the radar, to stock up for less. Meanwhile, MyDeal is Australia’s online department store with a huge range of items on sale.
Free delivery? Sometimes.
Same day delivery? Sometimes.
Price? Potentially incredible, but it depends.
What can I get? You can find any kind of beverage, but what’s on sale all depends.
Coupons and discounts? None. But head to Groupon and sign in to check out the daily food and drink discounts, and browse the beverages at MyDeal here.
Naked Wines
If you’re into a better drop of wine at an excellent price it’s well worth checking out Naked Wines. This is wrapped up with a great delivery system and great vouchers for finer wines, to the tune of $100 off.
Free delivery? Yes, in many areas
Same day delivery? Free next-day delivery in Sydney and Melbourne for orders placed by 3pm.
Price? Exceptional prices for the quality, and satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.
What can I get? Wines, champagne and sparkling wine only.
If you’re after same day alcohol delivery your options are more limited, and generally take the form of delivery services, like restaurants with a drinks menu or services like Jimmy Brings.
For larger orders, more selection and better prices however, look into Dan Murphy’s or Naked Wines for next day delivery.
Is it cheaper to buy alcohol online or in-store?
Going online can get you better prices and a lot of deals that simply aren’t available for walk-in customers. By grabbing your deals and hunting for bargains it can be a lot cheaper to buy alcohol online.
Plus, you generally won’t find anything in a store that you can’t get online, but can find a lot of options online that you probably won’t be able to find in a store.
Can you buy alcohol on Amazon?
Amazon hasn’t properly entered the Australian market yet, but is expected to be around and operational by 2018. In the US where it’s known for having (almost) everything however, its alcohol sales are still limited to wine sold by pre-approved sellers only.

Important information about this website
finder.com.au is one of Australia's leading comparison websites. We compare from a wide set of banks, insurers and product issuers. We value our editorial independence and follow editorial guidelines.
finder.com.au has access to track details from the product issuers listed on our sites. Although we provide information on the products offered by a wide range of issuers, we don't cover every available product or service.
Please note that the information published on our site should not be construed as personal advice and does not consider your personal needs and circumstances. While our site will provide you with factual information and general advice to help you make better decisions, it isn't a substitute for professional advice. You should consider whether the products or services featured on our site are appropriate for your needs. If you're unsure about anything, seek professional advice before you apply for any product or commit to any plan.
Products marked as 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. Finder's decision to show a 'promoted' product is neither a recommendation that the product is appropriate for you nor an indication that the product is the best in its category. We encourage you to use the tools and information we provide to compare your options.
Where our site links to particular products or displays 'Go to site' buttons, we may receive a commission, referral fee or payment when you click on those buttons or apply for a product. You can learn more about how we make money here.
When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.
We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.
Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
Providing or obtaining an estimated insurance quote through us does not guarantee you can get the insurance. Acceptance by insurance companies is based on things like occupation, health and lifestyle. By providing you with the ability to apply for a credit card or loan, we are not guaranteeing that your application will be approved. Your application for credit products is subject to the Provider's terms and conditions as well as their application and lending criteria.
