Airbnb launches three new features including new Airbnb Beyond

Airbnb introduces new tiers aimed at higher-end customers as well as new ways to find unique properties.

Less than a year after the accommodation giant launched its Trips platform, Airbnb has rolled out some new additions to its home-booking system and we're pretty excited.

The first is coinced "Airbnb Beyond". This is more about an overall experience rather than a home and is built around whole trips including hospitality, custom experiences and higher-end homes. Guests have access to fully customised trips and experiences in the world's finest homes, retreats and villas.

We're going to have to wait to see what will be on offer for Beyond as it doesn't launch until autumn but in the meantime, Airbnb has also unveiled two new categories, Airbnb Collections and Airbnb Plus.

Airbnb Collections are specific property groupings where you can search for a certain type of home that's more specific just a house with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Think romantic honeymoon hideaways, boys weekend away or work specific properties where you can take the office to a fun location equipped with everything you need.

One collection called Social Stays is for properties where the host takes you out and shows you the sights, kind of like a built-in local buddy. It's a similar concept to one of our popular travel hacks, Couchsurfing, but with the added security and features that you would expect when paying for a stay.

The final new addition, Airbnb Plus, is for the highest quality homes with hosts known for excellent reviews (4.8+) and attention to detail. This one is for travellers who don't want to spend the kind of money needed for an extravagant Beyond property but still want their holiday to be first-class.

Each home is personally inspected for quality and is one-of-a-kind and thoughtfully designed. The best part? When you book an Airbnb Plus home you get access to the dedicated Airbnb Plus customer support team.

There are 2,000 already listed around the globe with more to come and Sydney and Melbourne are one of the first cities to feature Airbnb Plus properties.

Both Airbnb Plus and Collections are ready for you to check out now and don't forget you can now split payments with Airbnb so you don't have to fork out all the cash for that Castle in Scotland or the Luxury Fisherman's Cave in Santorini.
