Sorry, this sale is no longer running. Check our list of current flight sales to find a bargain!

Low-cost carrier AirAsia has launched a week-long sale, with 20% savings on base fares for flight across its entire network.

Travel is available between 18 July 2016 - 24 November 2016.

However, the sale does not apply to fares booked during peak periods 9-19 September 2016 and 24 September - 11 October 2016.

The 20% discount will automatically be applied before purchase when booking through AirAsia's website.

In conjunction with the promotion - which concludes 2am 18 July - AirAsia BIG loyalty members will earn double points when booking discounted fares.

The points will be awarded four weeks after the sale concludes.

While the sale moderately cuts the cost of already-cheap base fares (for example a one-way flight between Sydney and Bali in August will set you back $203 instead of $231) it greatly reduces the cost of premium bookings, potentially saving hundreds of dollars.

You can also bag a bargain by searching the latest AirAsia promotion codes and sales.

Recently, competing budget airlines Jetstar and Tigerair offered Aussies end of financial year and spring sales.

Premium carrier Qantas launched a sale on return flights between Australia and San Francisco, while Etihad offered up super-cheap roundtrip fares between Perth and New York.

My daughter is in a wheelchair and we have a flight booked in October to Thailand. I did not request a wheelchair at the time of booking and when I add on the wheelchair, there is a charge for the use of the wheelchair. This is discriminating against disabled people – please tell me this is not required as not happy at all about this. The page also requests a number of a document to confirm what my daughter’s disability. What number?

      Hi Beverley,

Thank you for your question and I’m sorry to hear about your situation.

Please be aware that you have contacted finder.com.au, a financial and travel comparison website, and not AirAsia.

According to the AirAsia website you should not be charged a fee when bringing your own wheelchair and it will be checked in for free.

AirAsia will only charge you for special assistance should you choose to use one of the airline’s wheelchairs. If you wish to do this it is cheaper to pre-book than to hire one when you arrive. Also, you may be exempt from the hire fee by presenting your OKU or Disability Card Number.

For further assistance or queries regarding wheelchair hire, please contact AirAsia direct.

      I hope that has helped,

      Stephanie
