The power and the passion. Port Adelaide have both, plus the hunger and desire to go one step further this year and make it to the big dance. Their youngsters have gone up in class and they have plenty of hardened veterans among the fold.

However, one weak spot is their over-reliance on Charlie Dixon as a target in the forward line. It might be an area respected coach Ken Hinkley addresses this season for last year's minor premiers.

Should the stellar form of ex-captain Travis Boak continue, the Power will be odds-on to make the top four. Last year Boak came second in the Brownlow Medal count with 21 votes behind Lachie Neale 31. He also finished runner-up in the club's best and fairest count behind young gun Darcy Byrne-Jones.
