Blessed with exceptional talent, a good culture and sound coaching, the GWS Giants took another big leap forward last season by reaching their first AFL grand final.
It was an impressive effort considering they faced a challenging injury toll and only finished sixth on the AFL ladder. The fact they copped a hiding from Richmond in the decider shouldn't diminish the performance of a club that only entered the competition in 2012.
Provided they don't carry too many scars from last year's grand final performance and get a fair run with injuries, the Giants should be right among the contenders again in 2020.
Channel 7, Kayo Sports, Foxtel iQ, Foxtel Now and the AFL Live Pass are all options for watching AFL games in 2020. We have put together a complete AFL viewing guide for you which breaks down all the details.
In Sydney, Channel 7 shows GWS and Sydney Swans matches, mostly on 7mate. It broadcasts between three and five matches per round on free-to-air. That leaves a host of matches only available via subscription, including blockbusters like Hawthorn vs Collingwood in round three.
Foxtel iQ, Foxtel Now and Kayo Sports have every game of the home and away season live. Out of those options, Kayo is the most affordable. A Basic subscription starts from $25/month for use on 2 devices. For $10 more per month you get the option of a third screen.
On top of all AFL games live, you get access to more than 50 other sports. Kayo also has a 14-day free trial for new users and comes with a number of special features. SplitView, No Spoilers and Interactive Stats are just some of the options.
Another viewing option is AFL Live Pass, which is free for Telstra customers. You can also buy a subscription from the App Store or Google Play. Live streaming is limited to a seven-inch display, so you are unable to watch games on your TV, laptop or tablet.
If you are out of Australia at any stage during the season, you can still catch Giants games wherever you are. The Watch AFL app allows you to stream matches with an Internet connection. You can see a guide here on how to stream the 2020 AFL season from overseas.
If you're out of the country, streaming Aussie Rules football can be a bit of a pain. For those travelling the globe, there's Watch AFL.

The Giants only have a short history to date, but they have been on a gradual curve upwards since their tough early years. It only takes a look at fellow expansion club Gold Coast's troubles to see it's not always easy and the Giants' approach should be applauded.
They have made the finals for the past four seasons and will be eyeing a first premiership in 2020. Stephen Coniglio is the new captain and has signed a long-term contract while fellow midfield star Callan Ward should return from a knee injury.
GWS have a balanced, cohesive list and an astute coach in Leon Cameron. There will be big expectations and no excuses around the club this year.
