AFL Grand Final flights: How to find the cheapest

A quick way to hunt for cheap flights.

Find your cheap flights to the finals while you can, to catch the games you want live, from Sydney (SCG), Melbourne (MCG) and Adelaide (AO). There are still some flights there, but finding them at reasonable prices means booking smart rather than just getting tickets from the first place you see.

Skyscanner has been tracking the deals, and has come back with offers like:

  • Last minute Sydney to Adelaide flights, from $156 return for the Crows v Giants on 7 September.
  • Or flights from Avalon Airport to Sydney from $99 return, or $156 return from Melbourne Airport, to see the Sydney Swans v Essendon in Sydney on 9 September.

Flights to the first elimination finals in Adelaide are going a lot faster though, and they're not going be getting any cheaper. But it's still possible to fly from Perth to Adelaide from $745, or less from elsewhere, to catch Port Adelaide v the Eagles on 9 September.

For a fast way to find flights to follow your team, just head over to Skyscanner and find the cheapest remaining flights.

If you're looking to take off from anywhere else, or want to follow someone else's team, just put in your dates and destination below to automatically search for the cheapest remaining flights. This tool searches for the cheapest flights available by date, so you can quickly shop around for all your flights in one spot. Bear in mind that it works for international flights too, so if you're going anywhere else then this little widget is worth remembering about.

Next time you're taking a flight to anywhere, swing by Skyscanner before you book, just to see if you're paying too much.
