Only one round of the 2020 AFL season was completed before it was postponed as it and all other professional sporting competitions across the globe were severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. It ultimately managed to successfully stage a reduced 17-round season and a full finals series.

In 2021, a full 23-round schedule is back in a great result for footy fans. It will again be announced in blocks, as the situation is still so fluid due to unforeseen COVID-19 outbreaks. The first six rounds were initially revealed by the AFL in what is being described as a floating draw.

The first ever night grand final played at the Gabba last year, with the Tigers beating Geelong, is likely to be gone for good. The traditional Saturday afternoon decider is back, along with the Anzac Day match and other blockbusters at the MCG.

Every game of the 2021 AFL season is live on Fox Footy, which can be streamed via Foxtel iQ, Foxtel Now or Kayo Sports. Channel 7 and 7Mate will also show games, but outside of the national broadcast, they differ state by state. You can see our how to stream AFL guide here.
