Sportswear giant adidas is no stranger to pop culture collaborations. This year alone the label has pumped out collections inspired by Game of Thrones, Marvel and Toy Story and now it looks as though it will be adding Japanese manga series Naruto to the mix.
We got our first peak of the line back in June when sneaker blogger Jean Carlos took to Instagram to share images of what we imagine is the first drop of the collection. From what we are able to see, the collection is based on the Naruto Shippūden adaptation with the first pair of kicks inspired by the character of Sakura Haruno. Sakura herself appears on the left insole, while her signature red and pink colour scheme has been used to create the upper of the shoes.
The sneakers also feature Hidden Village kanji text on the laces and Team 7 badges on the heel to add to the design. Meanwhile, the sneaker silhouette itself consists of a pure white Boost midsole and red contrast rubber midsole.
Now, another design has been added to the line with sneaker Instagram Laceup Now sharing the first image of a pair of COPA UltraBOOSTs, this time paying tribute to Team 7's teacher Hatake Kakashi. Similar to the Sakura iterations, the Kakashi kicks are inspired by the colour motifs associated with the character, arriving in the navy blue suede of the Jōnin uniform.
The shoes also see the adidas Three Stripes branding, heel tab, tongue tab and laces all featured in grey to represent Kakashi's hair. Additional details include a midsole marked with "Hatake Kakashi" in Hiragana, a Leaf Village forehead protector lace tab and the Anbu crest on the heel.

While adidas is yet to release any information about the line itself, it's worth noting that the brand took a similar approach last year when it came to the release of its Dragon Ball Z collection. Despite multiple leaks, the brand stayed quiet for some time before officially announcing the line, so we're hoping that this is an indication that a much wider Naruto range is on its way.
On the plus side, if you're not already familiar with the series, this gives you a chance to get yourself up to speed. And if you are a huge fan already, it gives you the perfect excuse to binge-watch as many episodes as possible before the collection drops.
