The hot new kicks are coming soon, so get ready to buckle up.

From Valentine's Day-inspired to cutesy pastels, we've seen a bunch of adorable adidas Stan Smith silhouettes arrive this year. Now though, the brand is flipping the design on its head with the debut of a brand new iteration that is much more in the realm of high fashion.

Arriving on 1 September from the adidas Original's US online store, the Buckle Stan Smiths are unlike any design we've previously seen from the brand. The new style sees the usual lace-up vamp abandoned in place of golden dual-buckle closures connected with white elastic fabric down the midsole. The rest of the sneaker arrives in a sleek, premium white leather upper that gives the design a truly minimalist feel.

A grey-toned off-white heel and small stitching details along the upper does give some detail to the stark canvas, but the style really is all about letting the chunky buckles do the talking.

In usual Stan Smith fashion, the Buckle iterations also feature the adidas Originals logo stamped on both the heel and along the rubber sole. The tongue tab is partially hidden under the leather upper, with just a tiny bit of the adidas Originals branding peeping out.

The new design is a women's exclusive and will set you back US$120 a pair. There's no word yet on when we'll see the style drop onto the Australian version of the adidas site, but we imagine we won't have to wait too long to see them join the rest of the Stan Smith line-up.

In other adidas news, we've recently had a first look at a new sneaker line inspired by Japanese manga series Naruto. The label has also recently dropped a monochrome Solar Hu Glide collection in conjunction with Pharrell that you can shop now from the adidas site.
