ACE offers two travel insurance policies to cover local and international travel. A multi-trip policy insures you for an unlimited amount of travel within the policy period.


There are three Worldwide policies to choose from: Elite, Premium and Essentials. These policies are ideal for international travel. Depending on the policy chosen, your are covered for:

How do I apply for travel insurance from ACE?

  • Compare policy options. Choose your policy based on your destination, your travelling party and the amount of cover you require.
  • Online quote. Use the online calculator to get an idea of how much you’ll be paying in premiums.
  • Read the product disclosure statement (PDS). This document explains the terms of your chosen policy, as well as the circumstances in which you are eligible for cover.
  • Additional options. Optional extras are usually available to insure certain sports, special luggage or valuable items.

How do I make a claim with ACE?

  • Get in touch. You must give notice of your claim within 30 days of the incident. The longer you wait, the longer your claim will take to process.
  • Provide supporting documentation. Depending on the nature of your claim, you will be asked to submit documents such as medical and police reports, written statements from transport providers, original receipts and proof of ownership.
  • Duty of disclosure. In the same way that you are required to be honest when applying for the policy, you must also be truthful and complete when submitting information about your claim. Fraudulent claims will not be paid and could result in legal action.


Here are some frequently asked questions about the ACE’s travel insurance policies. Q. What kind of cover is available?

  • A. ACE offers a single-trip policy and an annual multi-trip policy. You can also apply for local travel, but you won’t be covered for medical or  dental emergencies. The single-trip policy covers you and any dependent children or two unrelated children. The family policy covers you and your spouse, dependent children and two unrelated children.

Q. What are the age limits?

  • A. You must be at least 18 and not older than 69.

Q. What is the maximum journey period under the annual plan? You are covered for an unlimited number of journeys within the policy period, and each journey must not exceed 180 days. You can contact ACE if you require an extension. Q. What is ACE Assistance?

  • A. This is ACE’s 24-hour helpline. In the event of an emergency overseas, simply call the number shown on the card (you can reverse the charges) and ACE Assistance will help you.

Q. I am being sued following a car accident while on holiday. Can I make a claim?

  • A. No. The personal liability benefit specifically excludes cover for losses arising from the use of mechanically propelled vehicles.

Q. Who is ACE underwritten by?

  • A. ACE Insurance Ltd underwrites its own travel insurance policies. ACE Assistance Network will assist you in case of an emergency.

Q. Can I cancel my ACE policy if I’m not happy with it?

  • A. Yes. You have 14 days from the date of confirmation to cancel your policy for a full refund.
