Google looks to be following in Amazon's footsteps.

Even though Google's smart speaker Google Home only launched in Australia this past July, it might soon be succeeded by a smaller, and possibly cheaper, version of itself if a recent report from Android Police is on the money.

While the details are slim, the news comes from a source familiar with Google's plans. It's not that surprising given Amazon did the same thing with its Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot smart speakers. The reveal will reportedly take place at a Google hardware event this spring.

Android Police also reported that Google will be revealing a new Pixel-branded Chromebook and two new Pixel phones alongside the mini Google Home. No pricing for any of the reported devices has been leaked yet, though.
