8 things that should be on your shopping list for Afterpay Day sales

Stephanie Panecasio 13 February 2018 NEWS

Afterpay Day (or should we say Afterbae Day) is almost upon us, and these are the pieces you should be on the lookout for.

If you're a savvy shopper, you know it's critical to come prepared to any sale event, and Afterpay Day is no different. This year's sale coincides with Valentine's Day, so you should be getting spoiled on all accounts.

In fact, you should be doubly prepared because not only will there be amazing sales, but you won't be paying for them straight away anyway. If you ask us, that's an excellent reason to splurge a little more on items you'd normally have to save up for.

If it's anything like last year, we'll be seeing deals in every category from bedding and furniture through to shoes and accessories. So it's important to plan ahead and identify the items you really want to target when the sales go live.

It can be a bit overwhelming to narrow down your list when there are so many great deals, so we've done the legwork for you. These are our picks for what you should buy this Afterpay Day.

Head to the Afterpay page for a full list of stores and discounts!

1. Bedding

If there's ever a good time to splurge on a luxurious sheet set, Afterpay Day is it. Imagine how much better you'll sleep when you're lying on soft, comforting sheets with a higher thread count than you've ever had before. Forget insomnia – with all the deals, you'll be sleeping soundly in the epitome of comfort.

2. Jewellery

Saving your expensive purchases for sales events is one of the smartest ways to shop, and jewellery can set you back a lot if you've got expensive taste (and we do). So get that piece you've been eyeing and relax knowing you'll be paying it off in instalments anyway. So go on, frost yourselves!

3. Winter coat

It's still warm enough to get by, but winter is coming and now is as good a time as any to invest in a winter coat. Sale events like Afterpay Day are the perfect times to go luxe, especially on garments that might be a bit more pricey in season. Besides, wouldn't you rather be prepared? Chilly days will be here before you know it.

4. Boots

In the same vein as a winter coat, it's almost boots season. The best part about buying a new pair of boots in advance is that you'll have time to break them in before winter comes and freezes your toes off. The sales will allow you to splurge a little more for some really amazing quality boots – you'll never want to take them off.

5. Lingerie

This year, Afterpay Day is on Valentine's Day, so why not stay in the Valentine's spirit and spoil yourself with some lingerie? Whether you opt for a silk romper or go all out with a full set, go ahead and treat yourself to an Afterpay and Valentine's combo. Even if you haven't got anyone to show them to, do it for you!

6. Perfume

Whether you've got a signature scent or prefer to switch it up depending on the occasion, perfume is always a solid choice when you're considering what to purchase on Afterpay Day. Even if you've already got a bottle of your all-time favourite, sale events are great opportunities to stock up for the future.

7. Skincare

Let's be honest – you're never NOT going to need skincare products. And if you're anything like us, once you find those Holy Grail products, you stick with them no matter the price tag (which is usually pretty hefty – apologies to our bank accounts). Well, on Afterpay Day, you can get those must-have products at a discount and still not have to pay the whole amount straight away.

8. Handbag

A good handbag can last you a long time, so we'd definitely recommend investing in a high quality piece this Afterpay Day. Even if it's just a clutch or maybe a monogrammed wallet, a brand new bag can make every outfit feel like a million dollars. Most of our favourites are definitely on the higher end of the price spectrum, so we'll definitely take advantage of the sales to get a good deal.
