All 7 of Resident Evil 7’s ghosts discovered and captured in HD
The new Resident Evil 7 demo “Beginning Hour” is deceptively short if you know what you're doing. However, dig a little deeper beyond the simple premise that is “get out of the house before you get brained” and you'll find a Rubik's cube.
It's doing the head in of an excitable RE community on Reddit and other gaming forums. Me too, frankly. What's the axe for? Can I really make it out of the house? Who in their right mind would watch any TV show with this repellent host actor in it?
So many questions. So few answers. And amid all of the crazy conspiracy theories, and diehard gamers clicking and bashing every single wall in a dilapidated shanty... there are ghosts. Why did it have to be ghosts? Well, “ghost” to be specific. The ruin that was once the Baker's home is haunted by a scantily clad female poltergeist who is extremely difficult to spot if you don't know where and when to look. Worse, even if you are equipped with that information, there's still a very low percentage chance, and she appears for less than a heartbeat before disappearing into thin air.
This is where I come in: I've spent days and nights on end (mostly days, because I'm a sissy) ghost hunting this house so you don't have to. Better yet, I've slowed each sighting down to a slow-motion crawl, and have upped the brightness and contrast to give you the absolute best look at some of the worst jump scares in recent memory.
First sighting: Outside verandah
The video below is part of a playlist. To navigate through each sighting, use the nav in the top-left corner of the video.
Second sighting: Hallway entrance
Third sighting: Kitchen window
Fourth sighting: Under stairs
Fifth sighting: Top of the ladder
Sixth sighting: Top of the stairs
Seventh sighting: Kitchen ceiling
Have I found them all? All signs are pointing to yes.
My instincts tell me that there will only be seven total ghosts to find, because this Resident Evil 7 demo sure seems to be obsessed with that prime number. Boxes labelled “7” are secreted everywhere. There are also seven little voodoo dolls hanging in a room underneath the stairs. Every single scrap of paper that bears a message...well, the messages are always seven words.
Seven's the key number here, people. Think about it. 7-Elevens. Seven dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. Seven chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea....
You know what? I may have been playing this for too long.
I'd better go play it some more.
In the meantime, check out our initial thoughts on Capcom's Resident Evil reboot.
