Attention all gamers: eBay is giving away 24 PlayStation 5 prize packs this long weekend. Here's how to enter.

The notoriously hard to buy PlayStation 5 is still completely sold out in Australia. Every few months, a tiny batch of consoles appears online only to be completely snapped up within seconds. At the time of writing, there was no new stock available at eBay, Amazon, Big W or anywhere else we checked. These things are rarer than hen plaque.

If you still haven't managed to get your hands on one, the following competition could therefore be worth a look. From today (June 11), eBay will be offering customers the chance to win one of 24 PlayStation 5 prize packs.

In addition to the disc-version of the PlayStation 5 console, the pack also contains the following goodies:

  • PS5 Dualsense Wireless Controller
  • PS5 Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • PS5 Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • PS5 Godfall
  • PS5 Pulse 3D Wireless Headset
  • PS5 Dualsense Charging Station
  • PS5 HD Camera
  • PS5 Media Remote
  • Playstation Plus 12 Month Membership

The total prize pack is valued at $1,619.50. Not too shabby!

How to enter

Picture not described
Most PlayStation 5 competitions force entrants to jump through a series of convoluted hoops - presumably so soulless marketing executives can boast about "user engagement" while presenting in boardrooms. (Blame social media.)

Thankfully, this latest promotion from eBay is a lot simpler to enter. All you need to do is join eBay Plus between 11-17 June and SMS your eBay registered email address to +0480000020. That's it.

Here are those steps again:

  1. Sign up to a free 30-day trial with eBay Plus
  2. SMS your eBay registered email address (or email that you just signed up with) to +0480000020

The competition kicks off on 11 June at 10am AEDT with entries closing at 11.59pm AEDT on 17 June, 2021. The winners will be chosen via a computerised random draw and notified by email on 24 June.

It's worth noting that eBay Plus is a premium subscription service that costs $4.99 per month. So you're technically paying actual money to enter the competition. With that said, you're free to cancel your membership before the trial runs out which means you won't be out of pocket.

What about existing eBay Plus members?

If you're already an eBay Plus member we have some bad news: the competition is only being offered to new signups.

The obvious way around this restriction is to sign up for a free 30-day trial using a different email address. (Just don't forget to cancel before the trial runs out!)
