2022 Renault Captur pricing and specs: New R.S. Line halo model joins the range
Priced from $39,590, the new 2022 Renault Captur R.S. Line brings sporty styling and additional tech to the light SUV.
The 2022 Renault Captur range is now being rounded out with the addition of a new R.S. Line range-topper. It adds some sporty flair to the French brand's most affordable passenger model.
Priced from $39,950 before on-road costs, the addition of this new variant follows the price of the pre-existing range rising by up to $1,900, seeing the base Life model jump to $30,090.
Visual changes headline the new R.S. Line variant: 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, a new front bumper design that claims to take inspiration from Renault's F1 cars with its new aero blade, dual chrome exhaust tips and gunmetal grey trim.
There are plenty of changes inside as well, with chrome 'R.S. Line' doorsills, carbon-look interior trim, aluminium sport pedals and red and grey contrast stitching.
However, the most beneficial changes come in the form of additional tech. The Captur R.S. Line exclusively features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, frameless auto-dimming rear-view mirror, easy park assist that performs hands-free parking manoeuvres, plus automatic headlights with high beam assist.
Although the rest of the 2022 Renault Captur range remains largely unchanged, Zen and Intens models now add adaptive cruise control as standard.
All Captur variants including the new R.S. Line continue to use the same 1.3-litre turbocharged engine with 113kW and 270Nm, which drives the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
In the light SUV segment, the Renault Captur is one of the slowest sellers, outselling only the Ford Puma so far this year, with it trailing the segment-leading Mazda CX-3, Toyota Yaris Cross and Hyundai Venue by a sizeable margin.
