2019 State of Origin Game 2 review: Player performance ratings
NSW have bounced back in dramatic fashion in Game 2 of the 2019 State of Origin series. Here are the player performance ratings and key State of Origin statistics.
Well who saw that coming? It looked like NSW were destined to be bundled out of the 2019 State of Origin series in straight sets. After being comprehensively dismantled by Queensland in Game 1, the Maroons went into the game with minimal changes and all the momentum.
On the other side of the border, the Blues were in disarray. High-profile players were dropped, key men were injured and the side was butchered to the tune of seven changes. Adding to the woe for a side picked on its agility and flight-of-foot, it began pouring with rain in Perth (which rarely ever happens).
Yet, the victory never looked in doubt. From the opening whistle NSW showed all the energy and lived up to the potential of the talent in the team. Brad Fittler is a genius, it turns out. At least for one more game, anyway.
