2019 F1 Schedule, F1 Drivers, F1 Teams and F1 Calendar

F1 Schedule

Everything you need to know about the 2019 Formula One Championship in one place, from the F1 schedule through to detailed driver and team lists.

What an intriguing year we have ahead in the Formula One. The off-season has seen some major driver changes, some key new partnerships between teams and engine suppliers, and a number of debutants lining up on the grid for the first time. Lewis Hamilton will remain the favourite, of course, as he zeroes in on astonishing six world championship. However, he can expect some stiff competition.

Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel are both former world champions who will be lining up on the grid. Young and fast, Max Verstappen has now taken over the lead driver seat at championship challenger Red Bull. While Australia's only F1 driver, Daniel Ricciardo, is starting anew at Renault, a team with unknown expectations. Can his reputation as the best passer in the field net him a swag of points?

New F1 Qualifying Rules

There was talk at the end of the 2018 championship about changing the F1 rules for qualifying. The idea would have seen four qualifying sessions, with four drivers slipping out of contention in Q1, Q2 and Q3. The final eight drivers would then shoot it out for pole in Q4. This idea has been put on the backburner, however, and will not come into effect during the 2019 F1 season.

In its place, a different rule has come into play. The driver and the team that nails the fastest lap of a race will be awarded one championship point. In order to bank that point, however, they must also finish in the top 10. It's a rule that use to be in place back during the 1950s and its return should add some intrigue and spice to drivers down the grid.

F1 Points System

The way points are awarded for 2019 will remain the same as it did in seasons 2010 through 2018, with the addition of the fastest lap bonus F1 points handed out to one driver each race. As a result, the F1 points system is as follows.
