All the teased beauty releases for 2018 so far
If you thought 2017 was big for beauty releases, just you wait.
Well, it's safe to say that the end of 2017 brought with it countless beauty releases that had us all reaching for our phone to examine Instagram looks (and press that glorious "Add to Cart" button). From Fenty Beauty's 40-shade foundation range and Galaxy collection to Huda Beauty's #FauxFilter foundation range, we've had our fair share of exciting releases.
And don't even get us started on the surprise announcements and drops from Kat Von D Beauty. The brand dropped more sneak peeks and products than anyone expected to see in the space of six months, including the Saint + Sinner palette, Studded Lipstick collection and Metal Crush highlighter palette (with the Kat Von D x Divine collaboration, Metal Matte Mini Palette and Basket Case eyeliner still to come in February).
But that's the past, and we are definitely looking forward to the future if these hints and sneak peeks are anything to go by. Thanks to Instagram, we're already on the edge of our seats for a few upcoming beauty releases that will make 2018 a year to remember.
Kat Von D is dropping an entire palette inspired by the Lolita palette
You can thank the makeup gods because the palette we didn't know we needed is finally on its way. The Lolita lipstick from Kat Von D has been the brands most popular shade that they even released an entire Lolita collection. We've gotten a sneak at what the palette is going to look like in terms of packaging and it sticks to the stunning Kat Von D tattoo style.
We don't have any info on what the palette will actually look like or when it will be dropping, but we'll definitely keep you in the loop!
Huda Beauty is giving the world a monochrome sneak peek
It's one thing to showcase a sneak peek of a new product, but it's just a whole new level of cruelty to display it in black and white. Beauty extraordinaire Huda Kattan posted on her Instagram a snapshot of a selection of what seems to be new eyeshadows in pots and trays. So are we seeing single colours or is this the making of a brand new palette? With over 30 different sized pans and pots on the table, we're expecting a palette - perhaps even a bigger palette than the recent Desert Dusk release, if we're lucky.
It may still be a while before we get a full colour image of this mysterious upcoming product, and even longer still before it lands in stores, but we're hopeful that Huda Beauty will have our back and get it done quickly. The hype is real!
In the meantime, pop in to Sephora to try your hand at swatching some of the older palettes, including Desert Dusk - and while you're at it, find your perfect #FauxFilter foundation shade!
Benefit Cosmetics is launching something "out of this world"
Benefit Cosmetics is known for being one of the beauty world's all-time favourite brow product creators, so whenever something new is teased we're all on the edge of our seats. Thankfully we won't have long to wait to find out because according to Instagram Benefit Cosmetics will be announcing a new release on the 2 February that is "out of this world".
Though the tagline may sound like we'll be on the receiving end of another galaxy-themed collection, Instagram commenters are pretty confident that we'll be looking at either a single new mascara or colourful brow product. Having said that, the backdrop definitely seems like there will be some kind of space link – maybe even just on the packaging. Benefit Cosmetics is known for its pun names, so it could simply be a catchy name. Luckily we won't need to wait too long to find out – and in the meantime we can get our Benefit Cosmetics fix from Sephora, Adore Beauty, Myer and of course direct from the Benefit Cosmetics' website.
MAC Cosmetics is on a collaboration spree with your favourite influencers
MAC Cosmetics has definitely made a name for itself with its array of incredibly pigmented lipsticks, and 2018 is shaping up to be a year that combines lipstick with influencers. Social media is hitting stores in a big way, using the followings of large-scale social influencers to create collaborations that have us all anxiously waiting for notifications to pop up with new looks and videos. MAC's 2018 influencer collaboration outline looks to be pretty damn incredible, with 12 confirmed collabs according to the @trendmood1 Instagram account.
These include Ohoud Alenezi (@ahoodalenzi_), Aida Domenech (@dulceida), Jamie Genevieve (@jamiegenevieve), Kate Clapp (@kateclapp), Raquel Calderon Argandoña (@k3lcalderon), Maine Mendoza (@mainedcm), Bruna Santina Martins (@niinasecrets), Nyma Tang (@nymatang), Palina Rojinski (@palinski), Paulina Goto (@paulinagoto), Sonjdra Deluxe (@sonjdradeluxe) and Patricia Bright (@thepatriciabright).
We're expecting to see these influencers showing off their lipsticks throughout the year, but in the meantime you can get your hands on some MAC Cosmetics goodies from MECCA, MAC online and standalone stores, Myer and David Jones.
Make Up For Ever has teased something brilliant to come
If you're a fan of Make Up For Ever, you'll know that when they tease something with the word "brilliant" in it, they mean business. The brand has some of the most pigmented products on the market, so we're intrigued by this snippet.
Taken in-store, a display photograph bearing the date "2.8.18" has made the rounds on Instagram. When we consider that it's written in the US date format, that means we only have a few more weeks until this "brilliant" new release drops on the 8 February.
With the photo seeming to feature holographic details, the talk of the town is that we'll be seeing some sort of holographic or glittery palette – perhaps some highlighters or eyeshadows.
Regardless of what it is, the display is quite big so we're expecting more than a single product drop. That's right, we're boldly predicting at least a small range of products and we don't have long to wait until we find out! While we speculate, check out the current Make Up For Ever range at your local Sephora, or online at Adore Beauty and StrawberryNET.
Huda Beauty has released a sneak peek of a nameless tube – what's inside?
Huda Beauty's Instagram is a place we'd like to live in forever if we could. With so many fun looks, tips and tricks, you may have missed the short video clip teasing this mysterious black tube, but it's definitely something to watch out for. The short video features Huda Kattan herself carefully holding a tube marked "HUDA BEAUTY" on it, concealing any further details with her hand, as she teases "something is coming" in a sing-song voice.
The post was then picked up by the @trendmood1 Instagram, so there have naturally been countless commenters speculating across both posts as to what it could possibly be. Is the shape of the tube a hint?
Most people seem to be guessing some sort of primer or eye primer, and we think they may be onto something. Considering how popular the #FauxFilter foundations were, it makes sense to create a primer that works alongside it to smooth out our complexions and make us look even more flawless. Not sure about you, but we're always in favour of that!
While we wait for more details, check out the Huda Beauty range at Sephora and see if you can find your perfect shade of foundation in anticipation.
