What you need to know about 10MATES NBN plans

10Mates_LogoWhether you're a power user looking for the fastest possible connection or just someone looking for a low-cost broadband connection for emergency situations, 10MATES has a range of NBN plans to suit every need.

10MATES offers a unique PAYG series of plans for users who want a broadband Internet connection but who don't really use it in day-to-day situations.

10MATES also offers a series of Performance plans in addition to its Standard plans, which come with a higher performance power, making them ideal for everyone from gamers to small businesses.

What are the different 10MATES NBN plans and bundles?

10MATS's NBN plans can be broken down into three categories: PAYG, Standard and Performance. As you might expect, PAYG doesn't include any data allowance as part of the package. Instead, it charges users for whatever data they do use.

Standard plans are available across all NBN technology types and offer the best value for money. With options for every speed tier, the Standard plans are more likely to suffer from congestion issues during peak times, but they do come with a free wi-fi modem and no lock-in contracts, as well as an unlimited data allowance.

10MATES's Performance plan users are separated from the traffic from the Standard plans, which means the connection is less likely to suffer from congestion at peak times. These plans include a static IP, which is important for business owners. There's no data limit and nbnSP will throw in a free modem at no cost.

To connect a phone line to an NBN plan, there are three options: PAYG, unlimited local and national calls and unlimited local, national and mobile calls. The catch is that 10MATES' phone plans are only applicable to full-fibre connections.

How much do 10MATES NBN plans cost?

10MATES's PAYG plans offer some of the cheapest connections to the NBN on paper, although the entry price doesn't actually include data, so your monthly spend could balloon out quickly. Pricing starts at $25 per month for a nbn12 connection and can get up to $50 per month for an nbn100 connection. Data is charged at a flat rate of $1 per GB.

Standard plans start at $50 a month for an nbn12 connection and can get up to $90 per month for an nbn100 connection. For a Performance plan, prices jump significantly, with the nbn12 plan costing $80 per month and the nbn100 plan costing $130 per month.

If you do want to add a phone line to your NBN fibre connection, the PAYG option is $5 per month, with calls charged on top. $10 a month will get you unlimited standard local and national calls, while $20 a month will add unlimited mobile calls.
