$10 Tigerair flights on new Brisbane-Canberra route
Limited one-way fares available from midday today.
Tigerair is quickly becoming the purveyor of new budget-friendly routes from Brisbane across the nation.
Only in March did the airline christen flights between Brisbane and Whitsundays on its A320 aircraft. Now, the airline has announced it's bridging the gap between Brisbane and Canberra with three weekly return services starting 14 September 2017.
To celebrate the new route, Tigerair is offering $10 one-way fares on this inaugural flight. Tickets go on sale midday today (26 May) and are available until 11:59 AEST on Saturday 27 May, unless sold out prior. They can be purchased now from booking sites like I Want That Flight or the official Tigerair site.
Express fares are also available on these flights for $24 each way.
Standard fare prices between Brisbane and Canberra for other dates will be $109 each way, though are anticipated to be cheaper during special sale periods.
Flights are scheduled to operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing 10:30am from Brisbane to arrive in Canberra by 12:30pm. The flight will return at 1:05pm to arrive in Canberra at 2:45pm. Exact flight times have yet to be announced.
At the moment Virgin Australia and Qantas are the only airlines offering direct services between Brisbane and Canberra, opening up possibilities for budget savvy travellers to get out and explore their nation for less. As an idea of what you stand to save flying Tigerair, Virgin Australia currently has flights from Brisbane to Canberra on 14 September for $139 and Qantas has $159 flights on that same day.
In addition to this new route, Tigerair is upping its services between Melbourne and Canberra with a second Friday return service from 15 September. Currently it operates daily flights between the two cities.
